PRIVACY POLICY

Introduction

Hi there! Your privacy is very important to me. Ensuring the security and protection of your personal data is a primary concern. I therefore conduct my professional activities in compliance with applicable EU data protection laws, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (EU Regulation 2016/679, “GDPR”).

This Privacy Policy has been written to provide you with information about how I process or intend to process personal information in my professional activities and how personal data are processed on this website. The language used is informal and plain on purpose to ease readability. Please read the Privacy Policy carefully to understand the practices regarding your personal data.

Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy concerns personal data processed relating to visitors of this website (www.francescapichierri.com) and to actual and prospective customers of my business.

What is personal data?

Personal data is defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (EU Regulation 2016/679) (the “GDPR”) as ‘any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (data subject); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person’ (Article 4 (1) GDPR). Personal data covers information belonging to both the private and public sphere of an individual.

In simple terms, personal data is any information about you that enables you to be identified. Personal data covers obvious information such as your name and contact details, but it also covers less obvious information such as identification numbers, electronic location data, and other online identifiers.

What does processing mean?

When you visit this website, basic usage data may be collected and statistically evaluated. Currently, this is done with IONOS WebAnalytics, which processes data in anonymous form (without cookies and without personal tracking).

In addition, this website contains links to external websites (for example, my Instagram profile or other professional pages). Note on Data Transfer to the USA and Other Third Countries

This website may contain links to external websites (such as Instagram or other professional sites). If you choose to click these links, you will be redirected to those external sites. Please consult the privacy policies of the respective external sites.

Plugins and Tools

Instagram

Plugins from the social network Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland) may be integrated on this website. You can recognize the Instagram plugins by the Instagram logo on the affected pages.

When you visit this website, after activating the plugin, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Instagram server. Instagram receives the information that you have visited this website with your IP address. You can prevent this by logging out of your Instagram account.

Instagram is used in the interest of an attractive presentation of my professional offers. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

For more information, see Instagram’s privacy policy at: https://privacycenter.instagram.com/policy.

Communication via social media (Facebook & Instagram)

I maintain online presences on social networks (Facebook and Instagram) to communicate with customers, interested parties, and users active there and to inform them about my services and activities.

When you contact me via these platforms (for example by sending a message or commenting), the data you provide (e.g. username, profile picture, message content) may be processed by me to respond to your inquiry.

Please note that the data may also be processed by the respective platform providers (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.), possibly outside the European Union. I have no influence on the type and scope of data processing by the platform providers.

For further information on data processing by Facebook and Instagram, please refer to their privacy policies (see above).

Audio and Video Conferencing

For the purpose of conducting online lessons, workshops or meetings, I use online conferencing tools. The specific tools I use are listed below.

If you communicate with me via video or audio conference over the Internet, personal data such as your name, email address, video and audio content, chat messages, and shared materials may be processed both by me and by the provider of the respective conferencing tool.

The conferencing tools process all data you actively provide when using the tools (user data such as name, email address and/or your telephone number, profile picture). In addition, technical data necessary for online communication is processed, such as IP addresses, MAC addresses, device IDs, device type, operating system type and version, client version, camera type, microphone or speaker, and connection type. The tools may also process information such as the duration of the session, start and end times of participation, number of participants, and other context information related to the communication process (metadata).

During sessions, the tool will process data from your microphone and camera to enable video and audio. You can turn off your camera or microphone at any time via the application or the web browser.

If content is exchanged, uploaded, or otherwise shared within the tool, this content is also stored on the servers of the tool providers. Such content includes, in particular, cloud recordings, chat/instant messages, voicemails, uploaded photos and videos, files, whiteboard content, and other information shared while using the service.

I will always inform you in advance if I plan to record a session, and will ask for your consent where necessary. You can decide at any time whether to participate in recordings.

Please note that while I handle your data responsibly, I do not have full control over the data processing by the conferencing tool provider. Their data processing is governed by their own privacy policies.

Further information on data processing by the conferencing tools can be found in the providers’ privacy policies listed below.

The use of video conferencing tools is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (for the performance of a contract or to take pre-contractual steps) and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (my legitimate interest in providing a flexible and efficient online teaching experience). Where applicable, data processing may also be based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; this consent can be withdrawn at any time with future effect.

Data I process directly via these tools is deleted once it is no longer needed for its purpose, you request deletion, or you withdraw consent, unless statutory retention periods apply.

The retention of data by the tool provider is governed by their own policies. For further details, please consult their respective privacy policies.

Conference tools used:

Zoom

I use Zoom. The provider of this service is Zoom Video Communications Inc., 55 Almaden Boulevard, 6th Floor, San Jose, CA 95113, USA. Zoom stores personal data on its own servers. It participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF) and has certified its adherence to the Framework’s principles for processing personal data received from the European Union. Please note, however, that data protection standards in the USA may not fully correspond to those in the EU.

For further details, please refer to Zoom’s Privacy Policy: https://zoom.us/de-de/privacy.html.
